đź“ŁThe Carson City Business Workshop is scheduled for 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, at The Studio at Adams Hub for Innovation, 111 W. Proctor St. The event is free, registration is required.

Featured speakers include Kathy S. Halbardier, a rural business advisor with the Nevada Small Business Development Center, and Hope Sullivan, director of Carson City’s Community and Economic Development Department.

Topics will include business planning, market research, state licensing and registration, insurance, financing resources and transitioning from operating a business independently to hiring employees. The workshop also will cover Carson City-specific topics such as business licensing, zoning, permitting, local government processes and other resources available to businesses.

Come meet with staff to discuss the new City Hall project. Learn about the timelines, future steps, and talk about the exhibits on display.

Also, the East William St. project progresses east of Roop St., and Public Works has completed road improvements to Fairview Dr., Stewart St., Airport Road, and College Pkwy. Plans are in the works for N. Carson St. Provide your input at carsoncity.gov/northcarsonst in the comment map and survey.

And don’t forget to support your first responders at Sheriff’s Night Out on Aug. 4.

🎉 America 250 Fireworks at Eagle Valley Golf Course! See the map for parking and viewing options. Viewing areas include the upper fields parking lot and lower fields. Centennial Park Dr. will open at 7:00 p.m. Fireworks are scheduled to begin at 9:30 p.m.

Carson City Celebrates America’s 250th with Two Garrison U.S. Flag Installations

Carson City, NV – On July 4, 2026, Carson City celebrates America’s 250th anniversary with the installation of two garrison U.S. flags in Carson City. The two flags will welcome drivers from the north and south gateways to Carson City. The public is invited to the flag dedication ceremony, to be held at Carson Tahoe Hospital at 11:30 a.m.

Organized by the Foundation for Carson City Parks & Recreation, the funding of the garrison U.S. flags initiative is 100% community-driven, with sponsors, donors, and contractors providing in-kind services to bring the project to life. “We’re proud of the support we’ve received for this project,” said Mayor Bagwell. “The overwhelming support from our community, along with the dedication and enthusiasm of our local and state partners, truly affirms the deep pride and love we share for our nation.”
