We are excited to announce that the 6th Victim Assistance Academy of Nevada (VAAN) has gone virtual! Previously, VAAN has taken place as an in-person 40-hour conference, but the COVID-19 pandemic has prevented DCFS from holding an in-person training. DCFS is now working to ensure that advocates from across the State of Nevada can attend virtually and can access the most up-to-date training from speakers who serve victims nationwide. We are currently working to ensure the same educational content is maintained in online modules that advocates can learn from and share with their agencies! We are excited to start accepting applications, the virtual training will take place as a self-paced course from November 1, 2021 to January 30, 2022 and Applications are due September 15, 2021.
If you or your staff are interested in attending, please complete the online application here: https://hal.nv.gov/form/DCFS/2021_Victim_Assistance_Academy_of_Nevada_Student_Application or visit https://vaan.nv.gov/ for more information!
