Tonight at 6 p.m., the West Suburban All-Stars World Series Champions will be paraded through Carrolltown by local fire, EMS and police with additional activities to take place at the Carrolltown American Legion Park. Any emergency vehicles wishing to participate in the parade should meet at the Carrolltown Fire Station no later than 5:45 p.m.

Residents are encouraged to line the streets to congratulate our local girls and world champions!

Congratulations to firefighter Landen Baker on his graduation from the Cambria Heights High School Class of 2025. Landen has been a very active member for the last two years and has gained valuable experience as a junior firefighter. Landen graduated with recognition from the National Honors Society.

We are all extremely proud of you Landen, and we can’t wait to see where your future takes you!

This weekend, several fire companies from throughout the area joined together to hold a two-day Flashover Recognition and Survival course in West Carroll Township. A total of 28 firefighters from 10 local companies participated in the class, which was hosted by the Pennsylvania State Fire Academy.

The course taught the attending firefighters very important lessons about a flashover, which is a rapid expansion of fire conditions that can be lethal. The mobile flashover simulator showed firefighters the warning signs of a flashover and how the situation can be prevented.

Thank you John Carroll Area EMS for providing emergency crews on scene each day for the safety of the firefighters and instructors.

Congratulations to firefighter Ian McBreen for completing the final portion of his Essentials of Firefighting Course this weekend at the Cambria County Fire School. With nearly 200 hours of training completed, Ian is now a fully-fledged interior firefighter.

We are very proud of Ian for all the hard work he has put in to complete this course. Ian has been a very committed member of our department, and we look for him to continue to make a positive impact on his community for years to come.
