Remembering our Veterans today: Here are the bronze plaques bearing the names of the 2500+ Veterans on our Monument - and we’re in the process of adding more. If you know of anyone who is not on the Monument, veteran or currently serving, and would like to know how to get their name added, here's the information you need:

Criteria for Names to Be Listed on the
American Legion Post 506 Monument

At least ONE of these criteria is MANDATORY:

1. Veteran born here, that is in Bakerton (Elmora), St Benedict, or Carrolltown.
2. Sworn into military service from here (active-duty Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines, Navy, Space Force or Reserve/National Guard) and discharged or retired under Honorable or General conditions.
3. Eternal rest here as a veteran buried in Sacred Heart, St Joseph, Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox, or St Benedict cemetery.
4. Member in Good Standing of American Legion Post 506 for a minimum of 3 years.
5. Validated permanent resident here with proof of veteran status.
6. A veteran nominated by a someone who can provide proof of service/residency.

To apply to have a name added to the Monument:

• Drop off proof of military service and residency or internment with the Legion bartender during opening hours or,
• Mail your proof of military service (normally a DD214) and residency or internment to:
o Service Officer, Post 506, PO Box 362, Carrolltown PA 15722 or,
o Email proof of military service to: [email protected]

[Note: If you do not have a DD214 and need to get one, please contact the American Legion Post 506 Service Officer, Paul Burkholtz, ([email protected]) for further assistance.]

Thank you to everyone who came out for yesterday's Monument Dedication Ceremony! Here's the full video of the event in case you missed it or want to see it again. Very special thanks to Father Michael for the blessing, Valerie Galczynski for singing the Star Spangled Banner and joining our very special Guest Singer Jack Dominick and the Mario Crocetti Trio in their unforgettable musical tribute. Finally, a huge thank you to the countless people involved in making this impressive Monument a reality! Very well done everyone!!!
