UPDATE! (4/22, 2:50PM) SR 212 is OPEN at this location. Repairs are complete.

SR 212 is closed between Sherrodsville and Leesville (west of Conotton Valley School) until further notice. During a routine bridge inspection, a deficiency was discovered on the bridge over Conotton Creek. Out of an abundance of caution, the road will remain closed at this location. The duration of the closure is currently unknown, but we will provide an update as soon as more information becomes available.

This week, April 12-18, we honor our 911 Dispatchers during National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week! They are the FIRST of all the first responders. They are here 24/7/365 to answer your calls. They are able to assess your specific emergency quickly and begin sending any resources needed in a matter of seconds. They have an unwavering commitment to serve their community with courage; Courage to be calm when others are not, courage to act quickly when mere seconds count, and courage to carry the weight of unseen emergencies day after day, often never knowing the outcome of those they try to help.
To our CCSO Dispatchers, we are grateful for you and we THANK YOU! You are the calm voice when it is needed most and your dedication to our community never goes unnoticed 🖤💛💛🖤

STATEWIDE TORNADO DRILL TESTING -
WEDNESDAY MARCH 18, 2026 at 9:50am

Tomorrow March 18 at 9:50am each local community will participate in the statewide tornado drill and test its Emergency Alert System. At 9:50am, the tornado sirens will be activated. There is no cause for alarm. In case of inclement weather, the drill will be postponed until a later date.
Businesses, schools and households are encouraged to practice their tornado drills and emergency plans during this time.

Our hearts are broken for Trooper Cayton’s family, friends, and the entire Ohio State Highway Patrol family. Please join us in sending them many thoughts and prayers during this most difficult time.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is mourning the loss of Trooper Nicholas P. Cayton, of the Canfield Post, after he died as a result of being hit while in his cruiser by a semi-truck on state Route 11 south of U.S. 224 in Canfield, Ohio. Trooper Cayton was assisting a disabled commercial vehicle at the time of the crash.
“Today, the Patrol lost a member of our family. This is a tragedy for the Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Ohio Department of Public Safety”, said Colonel Charles A. Jones, Patrol Superintendent. “Our prayers go out to the Cayton family during this difficult time.”
