It looks like tomorrow will be the biggest market so far this year for Carrollton Farmers Market!

You don’t want to miss it.
•Rattle snake Green Beans by the pound or by the bushel
•Incredible Sweet corn by the dozen or by the bushel
•LA Purple snap beans by the pound or bushel
•another variety of sweet corn by the dozen
•Chilton County Peaches
•Plums
•Yellow Squash
•Zucchini
•Tomatoes
•Cucumbers
•a huge variety of other fruit/vegetables
•Baked Goods
•Goat Milk soaps, wax melts, creams plus more
•canned goods
•Plus so much more

They will be there from 10am until 2pm! Come out and support them!

The Carrollton Farmers Market will be open tomorrow, Thursday June 11th from 10am until 2pm. We will have a truck load of Incredible Sweet corn and Silver Queen Sweet Corn, so get there early. The extreme wind 2 weeks ago flattened several area corn fields, so we are not guaranteed to have a lot of corn this year.
We should be loaded with all the early vegetables and fruit, so please pass the word. This will be our largest market so far.

Join us on Thursday, June 18, from 12:00–2:00 p.m. in Camden, Alabama, for an informative pasture w**d management program.

Participants will hear from Alabama Extension W**d Specialist Dr. David Russell and Regional Extension Agent for Animal Sciences and Forages Court Green-Johnson as they discuss effective warm-season w**d management strategies for the Alabama Black Belt. Topics will include w**d identification, mechanical removal, grazing management, and chemical control options for common pasture w**ds.

The program will be held at Mr. Jackson’s farm, located at 86 Experiment Station State Road, Camden, AL 36726.

Refreshments will be provided, courtesy of our generous friends at South Land Company.

Want to learn more about Alabama’s pollinators and simple ways to protect them? Join the Alabama Cooperative Extension System’s Home Horticulture team to become a certified pollinator partner!

This training covers key topics related to pollinators. Participants will learn how to identify the diverse populations of bees, butterflies, moths, and other pollinators that call Alabama home. The training will also include information on the important roles that pollinators play on food systems and biodiversity.

Finally, participants will learn practical strategies for creating and maintaining pollinator-friendly habitats. This will include several concepts on protecting pollinators—such as reducing pesticide risks, planting native species, and fostering landscapes that sustain pollinator populations year-round.
