Road workers and trustees have been out since early this morning. With three plows going it’s still impossible to keep up with the continued snowfall. With the snow being so powdery, drifting is starting to become a problem in a few spots. Our goal is to keep roads passable. We know the snow is supposed to taper off early on tonight, but it’s going to take awhile to get everything opened up good. Stay safe everyone.

This morning, Washington Township Trustees took nearly 3 tons of carelessly discarded tires, collected from roadsides over the past few years, to be recycled at Liberty Tire in Minerva. This was made possible by a grant from the Carroll County General Health District.

8:30am update- Mayham Rd is back open.

Mayham Rd between Pacific and Montero is closed due to a large tree across the entire roadway with power lines involved. Estimated time for the road to be back open is mid morning, Thursday 6/19.

Friday, July 12, Mayham Rd will be closed for culvert replacement near 2243 Mayham, between the Center Twp line and Solar Rd. Crews plan to start work around 8:00 am.

Work is underway on Mace Rd.

***Planned road closure.***
Monday, June 26, the portions of Gallo and Mace Roads located in Washington Township will be closed to traffic starting around 7:00am. Crews from E.J. Breneman LLC will be grinding and reshaping the road surface in preparation for chip and seal later this summer. Residents, we’ll get you in and out of your driveways during this time and all emergency traffic will be able to get through, but the road will be closed to all other traffic in order for the crews to work safely and efficiently. If weather prohibits crews from performing the work on Monday, this post will be updated to reflect that. Thank you for your patience as we work to upgrade these roads.

Tomorrow morning, Tuesday Aug. 23, contractors working on behalf of the Township will be milling and profiling a portion of Mobile Rd. Traffic will be maintained with flaggers. Once finished there, crews will move to Pacific Rd later in the week.

Chip and sealing will continue on Mayham and Norco Roads this week as weather permits.

Tomorrow, Thursday Aug 18th and Friday Aug 19th….Weather permitting, crews will be applying a double coat of chip and seal to Macaw Rd between 171 and Lunar, and both Mayham and Norco Roads in their entirety. Traffic will be maintained with flaggers.
…….Looks like we’ll be milling portions of Mobile and Pacific towards the end of next week. Please be patient as road improvements continue.

Attention residents of Macaw and Lunar Roads….this morning contractors applied a dust control product on the portion of Macaw Road between Lunar and 171. The product should have set up in about an hour, as of 3:00pm, it’s still tacky. Twp workers are going to spread some stone on it but residents are advised if they can take another way home tonight to do so. Thanks for your patience.
