Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southeast Indiana is committed to keeping our Bigs, Littles, families, employees and supporters healthy and safe. We are currently taking steps to prevent the introduction and spread of Coronavirus (COVID – 19)

(Please note this applies to BBBS of Jefferson, Scott, Jennings and Jackson counties of Indiana and Trimble and Carroll Counties of Kentucky)

As participants and/or supporters of our program, we want to communicate openly with you about our procedures, plans and general tips for preventing the spread of COVID-19.

IN EFFECT NOW:
• BBBS Staff will work remotely effective immediately until March 30 (at minimum).
• BBBS will limit business-related travel and monitor recreational travel of all BBBS staff.
• All match-related and agency events, including Match Intro Meetings, Match Meet Up Meetings, Home Visits, Match Activities, Info Sessions for Parents and Bigs, etc. are canceled until further notice. We will reevaluate at the beginning of April.
• Effective today, BBBS strongly recommends that all Bigs and Littles avoid in-person match outings until further notice and instead focus on building a friendship through email, phone, text, FaceTime, etc. Please contact your Match Support Specialist for ideas on how to stay connected. Please remember all contact with your Little needs to be done with permission and under the supervisor of their Guardian.
• Your MSS will remain available to all Bigs, Littles and Guardians throughout the upcoming weeks to complete match support and answer any questions anyone may have.

** Site based matches should not have contact with Littles outside of the school setting and will follow school closing schedules at this time. Your MSS will assist with following up on districts plans for resuming school.

Be sure to review and follow the Center for Disease Control’s recommendations for preventing the spread of illness.

Thank you for your continued support of the BBBS mission and all you do to defend potential in our community. We look forward to continued work with all of you and assisting in resuming match meetings in the near future!
