A positive mosquito sample for West Nile Virus (WNV) has been reported this week in the areas between Broadway Street, Belt Line Road, Josey Lane, and Valwood Parkway (area 7B).

The City will conduct ground-based spraying in those areas, weather permitting, on Tuesday, June 9 and Wednesday, June 10, beginning around 9pm and continuing until completed.

Tell mosquitoes to buzz off and reduce your risk of getting the West Nile Virus by practicing the four Ds:
• DEET All Day, Every Day: Whenever outside, use insect repellents that contain DEET, picaridin, or oil of lemon eucalyptus.
• DRESS: Wear long, loose, and light-colored clothing outside.
• DRAIN: Remove all areas of standing water in and around the home.
• DUSK & DAWN: Limit outdoor activities during dusk & dawn hours when mosquitoes are most active.
