We have received phone call from people in our county stating that someone has called them from the Carroll County Sheriff's Office representing our sheriff. This is not true. Our office is not making calls to anyone asking for personal information. Please do not give anyone any personal information over the phone. There are currently endless scams going on. Please be careful taking calls from any number you are not familiar with. There have also been scam calls for warrants and jury duty. The Carroll County Sheriff's Office does not make any calls regarding either of those.

There is currently a ongoing scam which is using a storefront in Glidden, Iowa to sell items that don’t exist. We are currently trying to get this problem resolved. Please don’t agree to buy or send money to this illegitimate front.
