SEPTEMBER - OCTOBER 2026 EXHIBITION
Photographer: Alana Ranney!
While Alana occasionally revisits the state's iconic landmarks, her true passion lies in uncovering the unique angles, back roads, and little-known vistas that define the landscape. For over 35 years, her camera has been a tool for capturing the delicate interplay of light and composition, turning diverse subjects into striking visual statements. To step into her work is to experience an intentional way of seeing—one that uncovers extraordinary depth in the quiet spaces around us.
Alana seeks out new and traditional epic vistas with her camera, and focuses on capturing the fleeting moments where light, weather, and terrain align to reveal the deeper, often overlooked narrative of nature. Seeing the ordinary and transforming it into an extraordinary work of art using form, pattern, texture, color, and light. I am drawn to the abstract language embedded in the natural world: the rhythm of moving water, the geometric symmetry of forest canopies, and the striking contrast of natural textures. Her creative process relies on intentional composition and framing to isolate these hidden artistic arrangements.
By stripping away the visual noise of everyday life, her photographs offer a fresh perspective on the landscape, encouraging viewers to look at the familiar with entirely new eyes. She invites viewers to step out of the daily rush, slow down, and reconstruct their own connection with the living world.
