The Town Of Grant Fire Department
Would like to thank everyone that came out today to our third water fight challenge, and little kids obstacle course. We had eight little kids that went through the course .
We had three fire departments that competed today in the water fight challenge with a total of six teams.
Town of Grant Fire Department
Marion Fire Department
Pulaski Tri County Fire Department

The winners were
1st place of the traveling trophy , Grant Fire Team 1
Which was Justin ,Caleb and John .

Second place Grant Fire Team 3
Which was Ryan, Mackenzie, and Todd .

Third Place Pulaski TriCounty Team 2
Which was Howard, Charlie and Andy .

Years ago a lot of the area towns had some sort of water fights . It is a dying event.
We are trying to keep it alive just to try and get firefighters together, their families , and the public .
We will have the Firefighter water fights next year and also the little kids obstacle course , probably around the same time after Caroline Colorama
Thank you Hidden Valley Supper Club for making the food, Pulaski, Tri-County Fire Chief for the donation of water.
Everyone had a great time !!
Thank you everyone!!

Tomorrow Saturday, October 10 starting at 11 AM. East of Caroline, Wisconsin on County Road M at the Town Of Grant Townhall. It will be held behind and below the Town hall.
Registration at 10:30 AM we will have our third year of our water fight challenge
There will also be free food and water to drink. Water was donated by the Pulaski Tri County Fire Chief, through the 7-Up bottling company in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
The rules will be discussed before we start , there is no entry fee and you will be paying for a traveling trophy.
Full turnout gear is required. It’s supposed to be a warm one out there.
Not sure how many teams we are going to have yet.
There is also going to be a little kids obstacle course
It’ll be a timed event and every little kid will get a prize.
Carry are welcome and the public is invited to check it out. We will see how it goes.

Also, the first two pictures we were able to purchase 31 lockers on Wisconsin surplus auction site. From the Brookwood school..
Would be Ontario, Norwalk, Wilton, Wisconsin.
We paid $680 total for all 31 . We used a donation we received from the Caroline American Legion post part of that donation went to pay for these lockers We would also like to thank Barry Grimm for driving down with a truck and enclosed trailer to bring them back.
The price of these lockers new like this are right around over $600 apiece they are actually sports lockers for high school sports, but they work great for Firefighter turn out your lockers.
If you wanna know where Ontario Wisconsin is, it is located 15 miles south of Tomah, Wi. About a 2 1/2 hour drive.
We would like to thank everyone that support the fire department, if you can make it tomorrow just to watch or if you want to participate, that would be great thank you!!

With this being Fire Prevention Week , last week we went out to the Amish School and talk to the children about fire safety and fire prevention
We’ve been doing that now for a few years going out there once a year and then teach them how to do a fire drill. It’s always a great learning experience for the children. They range in the school from 6 to 14 years of age.
Another reason is so if there would be a fire, they will not be afraid of us with all the gear on.

Also this Saturday, October 10 starting at 11 AM we will have our third year of doing the friendly water fight challenge registration is at 10:30 AM. It will be double elimination and we will discuss the rules before that starts. It can be coed and it’ll be full turn out gear required., we will be using inch and three-quarter inch hand lines at about 120 pounds of pressure, three person teams
You will be playing for a traveling trophy and there is no entry fee.

Also, they’ll be free, hamburgers, hotdogs , and Brats, and free water to drink.

Also, this year we’re gonna have a little kids obstacle course it’ll be timed and they’ll be a couple age groups, but all of them will be a winner and receive a prize. The events will be held down behind the Town Of Grant Townhall, just west of Caroline on County M , the Townhall will be open to the public.

So we will see how it goes just trying to keep the water fights alive in this area, and involving the children this year.

Also, we have our $500 daily calendar raffle tickets on sale for $25 a piece only 1000 ticket sold , Firefighters still have them for sale and there are some at the area businesses yet they are selling fast We are doing our best trying to get the tickets out to people . Proceeds go toward Firefighter turn out gear.
I will get the list of businesses that helped us sell tickets in the friends of the Firefighters soon . Thank you.

We purchased two new straight bore nozzles,
And we did some improvement on the footing we got a transit down there and trying to make it better.
If you plan on attending message the fire department page, the fire chief for one of the firefighters. Right now I have heard from five different fire departments at this time.
The Town Of Grant and the Town Of Grant fire department are not liable for any injuries during this event. If we missed anything, we’ll discuss it that day before we start.

So I’ve been thinking about how to write this
At the end of the call yesterday everybody was getting ready to leave the scene. And the scene was clear. I had asked Billy Mott if I could get a picture of the hazmat team from the Shawano Area Fire Department, they kept everyone safe, monitoring the the gas levels of the propane when they got on scene and if there was any changes till the truck was offloaded into another truck and Crosby heavy duty wrecker service was hooked on and ready to leave.
This is the first time that I can remember where we have ever needed them. So I wanted to get a picture . Everybody that was involved in the incident worked very well together.
A person might not think it’s much , but propane is a very dangerous gas, and everything went very well. Thank you.

The Town of Grant Fire Department would like to give a big thank you !! to the following agencies that helped us today on that call.

Shawano Sherriff Department
Marion Area Fire Department
Shawano Area Fire Department Hazardous Materials Team.
Crosby Heavy Duty Towing , Green Bay.

Everybody worked very well together,
We needed the hazmat team’s expertise dealing with a propane leak,
Propane is probably one of the most dangerous gases out there.
Thank you all!!

FYI, everything is under control here at the scene of our accident. As far as the home evacuations go there is no need for any more evacuations Shawano fire hazmat team is working on doing some air testing around the truck and precautionary measures
No need for anybody else to evacuate at this time and as far as the homes go, everything is OK inside the homes if they’re not home on Rangeline Road
