After more than 10 weeks of separation, the long awaited moment when Soldiers could reunite with the loved ones finally arrived for the newly minted Soldiers of 3rd Battalion, 13th Infantry Regiment at their Family Day Ceremony. These Soldiers will graduate from Basic Combat Training tomorrow, marking a significant milestone on their journey of service to our Nation.

The 80th Training Command (TASS) celebrated its best Feb. 24-26 in Grand Prairie, Texas, during the annual Instructor of the Year competition, where nine of the command's top instructors competed to represent the 80th TC at the level.
This year's winners are:
🏆 Chief Warrant Officer 3 Matt Bielli, 4th Brigade, 102d Training Division- MS
🏆 Sgt. 1st Class Kenneth Nkum, 3rd Brigade, 94th Training Division - Force Sustainment
🏆 Maj. Jacob Miskulin, 83rd Army Reserve Readiness Training Center
Congratulations to all three as they advance to compete against the best instructors across the Army Reserve.
"The role of an instructor is one of the most critical in our force," said Command Sgt. Maj. Rogelio James, senior enlisted leader for the 80th Training Command. Basic Combat Training 101: Red Phase
An individual's path to service begins with an idea. That Idea leads them to a recruiter, and then for over half of the individuals that enter the Force Generation Pipeline, they arrive at Fort Jackson for Basic Combat Training. They'll in-process at the 120th Reception Battalion, and then be transferred to the next available training unit. After they arrive at their training unit and make it through the first week, they enter Red Phase!
In Red Phase, civilians continue along their path to service with training and tasks that test their physical endurance and force them to face fears. They'll learn to trust their equipment and their battle buddies as they overcome obstacles and learn to work together as part of a team.
Guided by their drill sergeants, they will build the foundation that will lead them through the rest of their training as they learn to move, shoot, communicate and survive as a member of the U.S. Army team.
