Hey CB! This is the place where you can speak up and share your thoughts about what’s going on in CB. No one’s opinion is better than anyone else’s opinion. It’s good to have different perspectives. Otherwise, you operate in a vacuum. We should appreciate anyone who serves the community whether they are an elected official, committee member or a volunteer. One of the goals here is to help reduce the amount of groupthink that our Town leadership suffers from. Groupthink is a phenomenon that occurs when a group of individuals reaches a consensus without critical reasoning or evaluation of the consequences or alternatives. You can go to committee meetings & Council meetings and you’ll see that there is not much debate or discussion and definitely not much public input. Representatives of the public should bring different viewpoints to the table. What you see throughout Town (and especially on Facebook) is viewpoint discrimination. A lot of people on Facebook may not think about who is moderating these pages. Maybe the moderators support certain elected officials and they may shut down discussions if you don’t agree with them. Not here. Here’s your place to speak up, Carolina Beach. Please post your thoughts with credible sources or personal experiences. Speak up about things like parking, rezoning, road conditions, Lake project, Skate Park renovations, The Proximity, beautification, sunny day flooding, North End issues, safety, infrastructure, the Boardwalk, businesses, etc. This is no place for partisan politics. This is about local issues.
