Last evening members of the fire company put the finishing touches on our fire rescue pontoon boat. Including a Davit crane lift to extricate injured victims from the water in a rescue basket, a fixed master stream nozzle appliance mounted on the bow to extinguish boat and shoreline structural fires, a mounted 500 gallon per minute pump to extinguish any fire that may occur on shore surrounding the lake. The boat is equipped to transport medical patients to a designated staging area to receive the appropriate care and transport to a hospital . Equipped with radio communication and led lighting for night operations. The caroga lake fire rescue boat will be stationed on Canada lake for the entire season. This project was entirely funded by donations from our local community to assist in protection of our local residents and tourists who come to enjoy our piece of the Adirondacks.
