Tuscola County Animal Control will begin door-to-door canvassing for dog licenses in the month of September. Any dog licenses purchased between now and August 31, 2022 will have the delinquency fee waived. Get in now to get your dog licensed before our Animal Control Officers come knocking. This is your last chance to avoid that fee if you are behind on your licensing! Be sure to have your dog's current rabies vaccination certificate when purchasing the license - it is required for licensing.

Your summer 2022 tax bills should be arriving in your mailboxes soon if you have not already received them. If your taxes are escrowed, please note that you will still receive a copy of your tax bill for your records.

Summer 2022 tax bills will begin arriving in mailboxes today! If you do not receive your summer tax bill by 07/15/2022, please reach out to your township treasurer, or our office if we collect for your township, to request a new one be sent.

As a reminder, the Tuscola County Treasurer's Office only collects summer taxes for the following townships: Akron, Elkland, Elmwood, Fairgrove, Indianfields, Kingston, Millington, Vassar, and Wisner. All other townships and cities collect their own. All village tax bills are to be paid to the village.

Summer Property Tax Deferment

Pursuant to MCL 211.51, senior citizens, disabled veterans, surviving spouses of disabled veterans and farmers may be able to postpone paying their summer property taxes until their winter tax bill is due. Eligible tax payers can apply for a summer tax deferment with their local treasurer. You can obtain an application by clicking the link below, or on our website under the forms section.

You must file for summer tax deferment by September 15th each tax year with whoever collects your summer taxes.
