The EDC congratulates seven Tuscola County businesses that have been approved for funding through the Regional Small Business Grant Program! A Press Release from the EDC was issued today:
$31,457 in Grants Awarded to Seven Tuscola County Small Businesses
The Eastern Michigan Small Business Network (EM-SBN) is pleased to announce it has completed its current round of funding for Region 6 small businesses in Tuscola, Shiawassee, Lapeer, Huron, Sanilac, and St. Clair counties to support their growth and development. The Regional Network announcement includes the awarding to seven small businesses in Tuscola County with grants to support their continued growth. Over 400 small businesses in the 6-county region applied for 2026 grant funding, including 53 Tuscola County companies from all segments of the local economy.
The recipients for this year's funding in Tuscola County include:
-Country Roads Farm, LLC ($4,200), Mayville
-Hanby Bread Co. ($4,750), Caro
-Thistle Dew Creamery ($4,106.67), Vassar
-Kind Small Humans Early Learning Center ($4,200), Cass City
-Le Belle Vie Coffee ($4,750), Caro
-Thumb Meat Market ($4,495), Caro
-Turning Point ABA Autism Clinic ($5,000), Cass City
Tuscola County EDC Executive Director Alisha Proctor said she was very pleased with the large number of grant applications that were submitted to the agency in late December. "The EDC Board of Directors and I want to thank all of the business owners and managers who participated in this grant program application process. We know that this grant funding will benefit a large number of both business employees and their customers, and the EDC is happy to be a part of this very important program.”
Each of the seven businesses approved to receive the grant funding will be featured over the next few months as the EDC Business of the Week on the Tuscola County EDC page.
The 2026 Small Business grant program is being administered by the Economic Development Alliance (EDA) of St. Clair County, Michigan on behalf of Region 6. The EDA is working closely with participating Region 6 economic development organizations and key partners such as the Michigan Small Business Development Center to successfully promote and administer this grant opportunity.
