As is so often the case, this ended up being a larger and more complex project than I had initially envisioned, but this morning Jon Wagner and I completed our renovation of the flower beds nearest our main entrance. The previous beds served us well for the past 30 years, but they were definitely due for an update. Infinite thanks to the Toro Company for generously awarding us a grant to purchase all the materials. There was even enough left over for us to fill the beds with new flowers, shrubs, and plants, all of which will be coming soon!

Our 4th and 5th grade students visited Fort Mackinac, Kitch-iti-Kipi and Mackinac Island. The kids made the adventure fun and enjoyed learning all the history it has to offer.

We would like to thank DeBackers Burger Trailer, La Catrina Mexican Trailer and Al/Suzanne Macnaughton for their generous donations.

We're just a few short hours away from wrapping up the 2025-26 school year, and CNPS wants to extend a heartfelt thanks to students, staff, parents/guardians, and community members for all the effort and support they've provided over these past nine months. Thank you all so very much for all that you do! We hope your summer is filled with good weather, great friends, and fond memories, and we will see everyone back here in the fall!

Our elementary students had a great day at their end-of-year Wells Park picnic today! The weather was perfect, and the DeBacker ice cream was a huge hit!

Hello,

This is just a friendly reminder that our elementary picnic to Wells Park is scheduled for tomorrow (Thursday, May 28). I just checked the weather and we're looking at sunny skies with a high of 72 degrees. Probably a bit cooler by the lake, but pretty comfortable temps nonetheless.

Students will be leaving school by bus around 9:00 am for a 9:30 arrival time. We'll be serving lunch and (thanks to Debacker's!) ice cream at around 11:30. Kids will then be able to play until 1:45 or so when we'll start loading up the buses. We should be back at the school right around 2:30.

Thanks, and Happy (almost) Summer!

Hello,

We have been following the snow day situation downstate very carefully. Though we were hoping to get official word on it prior to noon today, we have been given every indication, from multiple entities, that the Governor will be signing the Snowday Forgiveness bill into law. As such, Carney-Nadeau Public School will be reverting back to its original calendar with Friday, May 29 (a half day) being the last day for students of the 2025-26 school year. Students in junior high and high school will have their final exams tomorrow, Thursday, and Friday. The elementary will still have their field trip to Wells Park on Thursday, May 28.

Thank you, and Happy Summer!

A mass call-out with this same information will be made shortly.
