⭐️ SMALL-TOWN KID REACHES A BIG-TIME DREAM! ⭐️

From a small town in Upper Michigan to the PGA Tour! ⛳️

Alumni graduate class of 2017, Hunter Eichhorn grew up right here in Carney, Michigan (population 179), learning the game on a nine-hole course alongside his Grandpa Steve.

After an incredible season featuring nine top-10 finishes, the Marquette Golf alum has officially secured his PGA Tour card for 2027! 🏆

What an amazing accomplishment and an inspiring reminder that big dreams can come from small towns!

Congratulations, Hunter! We are so proud to call you one of our own! 💚💛

This month’s Bookworms Bulletin focuses on two important building blocks of reading: phonemic awareness and phonics. Families can learn how students move from hearing and working with sounds in words to connecting those sounds with letters and spelling patterns. The bulletin also highlights how this learning grows across K–5—from early sound work in Kindergarten and first grade to vowel patterns in second grade and multisyllabic word reading and spelling in grades 4–5.

You’ll also find short, family-friendly videos that explain phonemic awareness, phonics, syllable types, and ways these skills support developing readers.

Take a few minutes to check out the October Bookworms Bulletin and see how these foundational skills help students become stronger readers and writers!
