PIP, PIP, HOORAY! 🎉

Party in the Park kicks off on Saturday, May 30th at Carnegie Park beginning at noon and will close out with a fireworks show. This is a first of its kind celebration in Carnegie, so please expect a large presence of families and traffic in and around the park. We ask that everyone attending is respectful of all park rules and if there are questions throughout the event, volunteer staff will be available.

Headley's Brewing will also be joining us from 3pm-8pm!

Thank you to our sponsors who donated to make this event possible.

We hope to see you all there!

Please note the message below as Public Works will be cleaning and sweeping on East Main Street on May 21st and 22nd.

On Saturday, April 18th, we hosted the 19th Annual Carnegie Volunteer Fire & Rescue Bureau 5k Run/Walk which directly supports our 100% volunteer fire department. The 5k is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the fire department and a great way to show off our vibrant business district. This year we raised $30,087 from 71 sponsors and 296 registrants.

We wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who made this day possible, starting with our participants who joined us bright and early on race day. Without their continued turn out, a race would not be possible. We see representation from all over southwestern Pennsylvania and even as far as Virginia and Florida.

We are grateful to have the support of dozens of sponsors who were either Carnegie small businesses or Borough vendors, many of which have been supporting this event for years. Several donors reached out to offer supplies to support our participants: Caltronics donated sports drinks, Crystal Springs donated water, Monteverde's Produce donated fruit, Carnegie Coffee Company donated coffee, and Jazzercise Carnegie hosted a free-warm up class in the parking lot.

The continuation of the 5k would not be possible without the months of planning and the combined effort from Borough Administration, Public Works, Police, and Fire. While the 5k is only a couple of hours, one day a year, there are hours of planning and coordination to make it happen safely. Thank you to everyone who volunteered their time on an early Saturday morning and for their assistance in the hours of work leading up to the event. The 5k would not run as smoothly as it does without this incredible group of volunteers.

We encourage everyone to support their local volunteer fire department and join us next year for all of the exciting things we have planned for the 20th CVFRB Annual 5k Run/Walk!

Over the next week Public Works will be hanging the military veteran banners across Carnegie. The Borough is currently in the process of replacing several banners. If you do not see your veteran's banner, it is likely one of the banners that can no longer hang and will need to be replaced.

Borough Administration will be sending out letters to coordinate with families to reorder and replace banners. The replacements require a fee for the printing. The veteran or their family must consent to a reorder.

As a reminder the Borough cannot guarantee spots on certain poles or move banners around as it displaces other veterans. The Borough may need to move banners under certain circumstances, such as if a pole is knocked down. There is currently a waitlist for new banners and we cannot guarantee there will be any available spots.

Thank you for your understanding as we complete this project to honor our veterans.
