12/9 Election Day Flood Plan
(IN-PERSON VOTING OPEN NO LATER THAN 4 PM)
Dear SVWID Voting Members:
The SVWID Board held a Special Meeting today, 12/8 to establish a process for safe in-person voting if flooding in the Snoqualmie Valley occurs as forecasted. The Board finds that emergency measures are necessary to ensure voter access, protect public safety, and preserve the integrity of the election.
1. Emergency Ballot Box Hours. The official ballot box located at 28901 NE Carnation Farms Rd., Building H, Carnation, Washington 98014 shall be opened earlier than statutory polling hours, beginning at 8:30 a.m., to allow voters to safely deposit ballots before flood conditions worsen.
2. Early Closure. For everyone's safety, the Board of Election made the preliminary decision that the polling place will be open no later than 4 PM. This could change to an earlier time if travel to the polling place is deemed unsafe due to flood stage conditions.
3. Mailing Ballots. Voters may return ballots by mail. Ballots must be postmarked by 8:00 p.m. on December 9, 2025 and received within 7 days.
