Bruce was raised in a Norman Rockwell setting in small town of Lebanon Ohio where both parents were school teachers and co
mmunity leaders. He was an Eagle Scout and served for two years as head of the area scouting service organization, the Order of Arrow in Southern Ohio. Bruce learned very early the importance of listening first in being part of a well-run organization. As a graduate of Hanover College with a major in geology and minor in business Bruce was quickly transferred across the county with stops in Colorado and California. Bruce was involved in multimillion dollar sales of oil drilling and geophysical equipment to International companies. With the collapse of the oil industry in the late eighties Bruce transferred his analytical and business skills to the mortgage banking Industry while his wife finished law school at UCLA. In 1991 Bruce moved his family back to its’ roots in the Midwest and Indiana. They picked Carmel with its many opportunities to be involved in a rapidly growing community. Bruce believes his national industrial sales background and over 25 years of mortgage banking experiences, bring a valuable perspective to the city and its citizens. Once settled into Carmel, BruceBruce_Bicycle.jpg quickly became a Dads Club volunteer and youth coach and eventually a travel soccer dad. He has held leadership positions in his church community. For the last ten years he has been a volunteer at Camel Farmers Market and part of its growth to one of the premier farmers markets in the State of Indiana. Bruce currently serves as a community volunteer with the City’s Alternative Transportation committee . He was a founder of Carmel Pedals a group that promotes bicycle safe riding for every age group and level of cycling. Bruce also served as a founding board member for the Carmel City Center Community Development Corporation. He was involved with a number of multimillion dollars projects that all came in under budget while he severed. These projects helped Carmel achieving its number one place to live ranking by Money Magazine in 2012.
