Putnam/Northern Westchester Women's Resource Center

Putnam/Northern Westchester Women's Resource Center Providing survivors of violence & abuse with therapy, victim advocacy, case management, & safe housing All services are free & confidential.

PNWWRC serves all victims of violence and abuse through our victim advocacy, case management, trauma therapy, SANE program, community education, & emergency Domestic Violence Shelter. All services at PNWWRC are available for children through senior citizens, and victims ages three through eighty-three have utilized these programs. Community outreach and education are an integral part of the progra

m and represent the Center's commitment to prevention of violence through education, information and resources. Trained volunteers play an important role in the agency by assisting the paid staff members with fundraising, clerical activities and responding to local hospitals through our Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner & Advocate program. The most unique quality of the Center is that women provide leadership and services for families using the Center in a caring, non-judgmental manner, acknowledging the shared experiences women have in our society and recognizing the right of each individual to make their own choices about their life. Peace in the World Begins with Peace in the Home has been a guiding ideal of the Women's Center for the past 25 years, and we continue to strive towards eliminating violence and promoting gender equality.

What kind of community do we want to live in?

A community where people show up for one another. Where survivors are met with compassion. Where healing is supported by neighbors, businesses, volunteers, and friends.

This week, Bri from Extravagance by Bri reminded us what that looks like by donating her time, talent, and care to provide a free spa experience for survivors in our community.

Creating a safer, more compassionate world requires all of us. Every act of generosity, every volunteer hour, every donated skill, and every dollar invested helps build the community we want to call home.

Thank you, Bri, for being part of that vision.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month

Healing after domestic violence or sexual assault is rarely a straight line.

Some days it looks like therapy.
Some days it looks like setting boundaries.
Some days it looks like surviving.

Mental health isn’t a task to complete or a finish line to cross.

It’s a practice.

Free & confidential help is available 24/7 through Putnam Northern Westchester Women’s Resource Center.

“We are the difference between someone remaining in a risky unsafe relationship and someone finding refuge, rebuilding their lives, and getting a path forward in life.” 💜

At the Greater Mahopac-Carmel Chamber of Commerce Businessperson of the Year Dinner, our Executive Director, Piaget Solpiaget, reflected on the impact of the Putnam/Northern Westchester Women’s Resource Center.

As we were honored for our 45-year milestone, Piaget recognized the unwavering commitment of our staff — the compassion, dedication, and strength that make a real difference every single day.

Because this work is more than a mission — it’s life-changing.

As was said that evening: we are saving lives.

Thank you to the Chamber for this recognition, and to everyone who continues to stand with us in building a safer, stronger community.
