Our Mid Coast Community is so very lucky that the fire did not come into our area. If the weather holds we are hoping their direct efforts hold.
Best news is that Big Sur is open once again although the South Coast remains closed. Excellent effort and work by all agencies involved.
Our Harvest Moon Ball 9/26/26) is a go and I need your help! We have many excellent Silent Auction items which include sport fishing, private 6 course dinner for 8 at a local Big Sur home overlooking the ocean, local art and photography, a Land Rover 4x4 driving course experience and many more.
We are trying to raise funds to replace our outdated Self Contained Breathing Apparatus (S.C.B.A.) and need your help. If you are unable to attend please consider donating and/ or sharing on your social media.

As we wake this morning the Timber Fire has grown to over 800 acres with evacuations as far north as the Ventana Inn. Our hearts go out to our Big Sur community members affected by this fire.
Unfortunately a incident like this is a stark reminder of the fragile place we love and live.
Please it is never too late to clear around your home and have a solid list of what to take if that evacuation order is issued including your medications.
The pictures are taken from Palo Colorado Canyon looking south and east as the morning smoke settled in.

Please support us if you can come or donating if you can't attend (every dollar counts ).
Please consider helping us to spread the word by sharing on your social media.
Our Fire Bridge covers 32 square miles with 11 miles of Highway 1 which includes the World Famous Bixby Bridge.
We are in need of replacing all of our outdate Self Contained Breathing apparatus and funds received from the county (60k) annually pays for insurance and some vehicle maintenance. We must raise funds for every other necessity.

Getting to be that time of year on the Central Coast. Be vigilant and prepared! Have your go bag ready and a list of what to take so you don’t panic grab if the time comes. Last but not least video annually your home and contents for insurance purposes… it doesn’t work like you think.

Saturday June 6th was our annual training RT130 Wildland Fire Training Day. CalFire sent two Schedule B engines to train with us that included E4681 and E4691. So much learning, excellent mentoring and the best crews we’ve had the pleasure to work alongside.
Excellent day had by all!
