Staying Active and Connected
After living on his own in Kansas, Al’s family grew concerned about his safety and wellbeing. With limited family support to help him relocate, Bickford stepped in to bring Al home. Over time, Al’s mobility declined, and he struggled to remain active and engaged in daily life.
Bickford’s HigherPath approach brought the team together to help Al regain strength, confidence, and connection.
✅CarePredict data revealed a decrease in activity, prompting early attention and intervention
✅ Curana Health evaluated Al and coordinated Physical Therapy with Fox Rehab
✅ Fox Therapy focused on building Al’s endurance, improving balance, and helping him safely board HOWIE for community outings
✅The Happiness Coordinator and care team encouraged exercise classes, walking club, and longer walking routes to meals
Today, Al is an active and well-known member of the community. He attends activities throughout the week, enjoys meals with friends, and proudly goes by “Santa Al” for his white beard and annual contributions to Toys for Tots. After therapy, Al was even able to join a community outing to play pool—reconnecting with a pastime he loved from earlier in life.
Al’s journey reflects how technology, teamwork, and compassionate care come together through the HigherPath Health Model to support independence, purpose, and joy.
