Shout out and thank you to Reliance Equipment for getting our yearly pump testing done. Both apparatus passed! Also to the Town of Hermon Fire Department and its citizens for allowing us use of hermon pond today.

How did you spend your Cinco de Mayo and International Firefighters Day?!

The Junior Firefighters of Carmel continued to build on their foundation of knowledge pertaining to self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) use and confidence. With the assistance of Maine Fire Service Institutes SCBA Air Management Trailer, the Juniors were able to navigate through simulated obstacles and confined spaces with little to no visibility.

Our Junior Firefighters train weekly on Wednesday nights at 6:30pm and they frequently accompany the adults on Tuesday nights.

The Carmel Fire Department’s Junior Program offers a unique opportunity to learn valuable life-saving skills whilst building lifelong friendships.
