Did you know your hearing affects more than your ears?

When your brain doesn't receive all of the stimulation it was designed to have (normal hearing), your auditory systems will atrophy (when you have a hearing loss) over time. Once that happens, it is very difficult to make your brain "understand" normal speech - no matter how much stimulation it receives (such as more amplification with the use of hearing aids).

The good news is with proper stimulation in the right areas (using properly tuned hearing aids), and consistent use (wearing your hearing aids as much as possible - waking hours is best), we can maintain your brain's ability to understand speech at it's current levels!

For this reason it is best to correct your hearing as soon as there is sufficient need for it - ANY atrophy is a bad thing, but most especially in your brain!!
