You won’t believe what our crews find in the pipes.
This spring alone: tree branches pulled from a sewer main, abandoned bathroom connections causing water backup, and illegal drains hooked into the system. Each one is a potential blockage - or worse, a spill near an environmentally sensitive area.
Our team investigates every issue with CCTV cameras and sometimes confined space entry to remove obstructions by hand.

Our team finished this critical upgrade of Batiquitos Pump Station - concrete repairs, generator relocation, new access hatch, and epoxy coating - all under budget. Investments like this keep our system reliable for decades to come.

We maintain 10 pump stations across the District, each one essential to protecting public health and our local waterways.

Beach season is officially here. Check surf conditions before you head out!
LWD's Ponto Beach surf cam has been running for 15+ years and is the most visited page on our website. Why does a wastewater district have a surf cam? Because protecting the coastline is our job.

The water and wastewater industry offers some of the most stable, in-demand career paths out there. Our team holds degrees, technical certifications, and years of specialized training. They operate pump stations, manage SCADA systems, and respond to emergencies 24/7.

These are careers that can’t be outsourced and won’t be replaced by AI.

LWD’s award-winning Water Career Day gives students and veterans a hands-on look at what this work looks like. Stay tuned for this year’s date!
