It was an honor to attend yesterday’s Eagle Scout Court of Honor for Thomas Forestieri of Troop 168. Thomas, a senior patrol leader, has earned 35 merit badges and completed an impressive service project, constructing a resurrection garden featuring a statue of the risen Jesus. Congratulations to Thomas on this outstanding achievement and the dedication it represents!

Antlerless deer licenses go on sale three weeks from today (Monday, June 22)…

Share it, save it, mark it down — 2026-27 licenses go on sale Monday, June 22, 2026!

The first day to purchase your 2026-27 Pennsylvania hunting and trapping licenses AND resident antlerless licenses for ALL WMUs is Monday, June 22.

Like last year, ALL resident hunters are GUARANTEED an antlerless license in any WMU in the first round, IF purchased prior to July 13. No need to wait in line — you’ll have 21 days to get your guaranteed antlerless license!

Monday, June 22 (8 a.m.) – RESIDENTS ONLY: antlerless licenses on sale for all WMUs, guaranteed to all PA residents.

Monday, July 13 (8 a.m.) – NONRESIDENTS: unsold antlerless licenses available on a first come, first served basis. WMU allocations will apply.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:

Hunters will need their state identification (driver’s license) OR CID number to purchase licenses in person and online. Your CID number can be found on your previous year’s hunting or fishing licenses.

Prior to purchasing your license, log in to your HuntFishPA account and update your email address. We’ll periodically email important information and updates about hunting licenses and regulations you won’t want to miss!

One antlerless deer license can be purchased per round in the first three rounds. More info at: https://bit.ly/Antlerless.

You DON’T have to purchase your license online; you can still purchase in-person at any license agent. Find the closest one to you at: huntfish.pa.gov/agentlocator/.

Officer Yeager is the third Pennsylvania police officer to be killed in the line of duty this year. May she rest in peace and rise in glory.

Today, our department mourns the heartbreaking loss of Officer Kristen Yeager, who made the ultimate sacrifice while responding to a call for service on May 29, 2026.

Officer Yeager served our community with courage, compassion, and unwavering dedication. She answered the call to protect and serve each day, placing the safety of others above her own. Her commitment to her badge, her fellow officers, and the citizens she served will never be forgotten.

We ask that you keep Officer Yeager’s family, friends, and our entire law enforcement family in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.

Rest easy, Officer Yeager. Your watch has ended, but your legacy of service and sacrifice will live on forever. We got it from here.

🖤💙 End of Watch: May 29, 2026

We get a lot of questions dealing with federal government issues. While we appreciate hearing from you, questions like this need to be forwarded to “the next level.”

That’s one reason why we enjoyed having Joseph Nield (right in photo) from U.S. Sen. Dave McCormick’s office with us on Thursday to meet individually with constituents. Pictured with him is Trey Piper, my district office communications staffer.

Thanks Joseph!

Cumberland County farmers are now eligible for emergency loans to help with recovery from damage and losses caused by below-freezing temperatures in April.

The county has received a disaster designation which allows the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to extend much-needed emergency credit that can be used for replacement of essential items such as equipment or livestock, reorganization of a farming operation, or refinancing certain debts.

The USDA’s Farm Service Agency will review the loans based on the extent of losses, security available and repayment ability.

With half a million fans expected to take part in the FIFA World Cup festivities starting next month in Philadelphia, the PA State Police is offering tips to help visitors and residents protect themselves from crimes and potential scams commonly associated with large-scale events.

These include:

• Ticket Scams: Only purchase tickets from verified platforms.

• Accommodations Fraud: Be cautious of rentals, hotels or travel packages at “too good to be true” prices.

• Malware/Phishing: Social media may be used to send links to photos and videos of important event moments. The links may appear valid, but when clicked, malware is downloaded.

• QR Codes: Fraudulent QR codes may be placed in areas surrounding event venues to mislead unsuspecting attendees into believing the link is for legitimate sites to purchase merchandise, tickets, parking, meet and greet opportunities, or other goods. Avoid QR codes that are stickers, and always check the website URL after scanning a QR code.

• ATM Cash Traps/Skimming Devices: Use caution when using ATMs and points-of-sale terminals to withdraw funds or pay for items. Avoid using standalone ATMS or ones that show signs of tampering. If the cash doesn’t dispense immediately, report it to local law enforcement.
