💜🎡🎆Mark your calendars — the dates are officially set for the 80th Annual Blackberry Festival in Downtown Carlisle June 30th through July 4th, 2026!
💜This year’s festival is extra special as we celebrate 80 years of the Carlisle Blackberry Festival, hosted by Carlisle–Nicholas County Tourism, and the 250th birthday of the United States of America. That’s right… a quarter of a millennium of freedom calls for one heck of a hometown celebration.
💜Expect a full week of blackberry treats, live music, carnival rides, vendors, community events, and a star-spangled Fourth of July right here in the heart of Carlisle. It’s the kind of small-town tradition that brings everybody together — neighbors, families, and folks traveling in just to see what all the excitement’s about.

The office of the Nicholas County Attorney will be CLOSED on Monday, January 26, due to inclement weather and dangerous road conditions.

The Nicholas County Clerk has asked that I share the notice that her office will be closed as well.

NOTICE:
UPDATE!

The courthouse offices will be closed Tuesday, January 7, due to the treacherous conditions and current state of emergency. The county judge ((859)473-5211) and the sheriff (911) will be accepting calls. Feel free to message or call the other elected county officials in the event of an urgent matter.

Court proceedings scheduled for Tuesday in Nicholas County have been CANCELLED.

Again, we express SINCERE THANKS to all road crews, law enforcement, emergency responders, healthcare workers, linemen/utility workers and ALL others who brave these conditions in order to provide a service to others! PRAYERS!
