Carlinville American Legion - Guy Baird Post 554 Carlinville American Legion - Guy Baird Post #554 The post was named after Guy R. Baird, USMC.

Guy was the very first person from Carlinville to volunteer for service when the United States entered into World War I, known at the time as the war to end all wars. Baird was killed during a combat action in France during the month of July 1918.
