Just a reminder of tomorrow's regular Guild meeting. The 3 challenge words are: progress, affirm, gray. Our alternate writing prompt is: Explain a dream (real or imaginary) that you had to give up on, and why did you have to give up on it? Also a reminder that if you plan to sign up for next week's (November 2) writers workshop, please do so as soon as possible. See you all tomorrow!

Our next Carlinville Writer's Guild meeting will be on Saturday, September 28, at the Carlinville Library starting at 9:15 am. Our 3-word challenge: train, telegraph, quintessential. Alternate challenge: Choose a favorite quote from an author, and tell why you love it. See you Saturday!

Writing challenges for the August 31 guild meeting are to write something using the words whiskers, launch, and unevenly AND/OR write about something that has happened to you that has no logical explanation. Have fun! See you Saturday!

Weekly Tuesday write-in is a GO today at Cavataio's Restaurant starting at 1. Typically we eat and talk until 2 or so, then write at your own pace until you choose to go. This is mostly a social event but we usually get a bit of writing done. Hope to see you there! Thanks to Michael Baldwin for being the constant presence!

Just a reminder of today's write-in starting at 1:00 at Cavataio's Restaurant in Staunton. This is a weekly event no matter how many show up. We typically eat and talk for the first hour or so, then spread out our writing projects and write for 30 min. to an hour, working at each person's pace. It is mostly social but we do get a little writing done! Hope to see you there!

Just a reminder of Saturday's guild meeting. Author John Jamison will be our special guest. He will talk about his new suspense novel and children's book, as well as the rest of his writing journey. John was a speaker last year at a regular meeting and also at our fall workshop. Hope to see you there!

Hi everyone, just a reminder of tomorrow's Guild meeting. Challenges are (1) write about putting the pieces of a puzzle together (2) use the three words glide, smoke, mundane in a writing piece (3) bring something else to read if you don't do either of the challenges (4) come even if you aren't going to read - we need listeners too! Also a heads up on the April 27 meeting with special guest John Jamieson. John recently released not one, but TWO new books - a suspense thriller and children's book. Be sure to come to hear our friend share about his writing journey and get a first-hand look at his new creations!
