🦆🚓 Waddle we have here? 🚓🦆

Today, one of our officers had the pleasure of meeting some very special members of the community—therapy ducks! Sgt. Smedo spent some time getting to know these feathered friends, who bring comfort and smiles wherever they go.

We’re always grateful for the unique ways our community supports one another—and this visit definitely brightened our day!

🚨 Public Safety Alert: Michigan Secretary of State Scam 🚨

The Carleton Police Department is advising residents to be aware of an ongoing scam involving individuals posing as the Michigan Secretary of State (SOS).

Residents have reported receiving fraudulent text messages, emails, and phone calls claiming they owe fines, must verify personal information, or face suspension of their driver’s license or vehicle registration. These messages often include links to websites designed to appear official.

Please be advised:
🔹The Michigan Secretary of State will not request sensitive personal information via unsolicited text or email
🔹Messages that create a sense of urgency or threaten immediate penalties should be treated with caution
🔹Do not click on unknown links or provide personal or financial information

If you receive a suspicious message:
🔹Do not respond or engage
🔹Do not click any links or download attachments
🔹Verify directly through the official Michigan Secretary of State website or by calling their office

We encourage all residents to remain vigilant and share this information with family and friends, especially those who may be more vulnerable to scams.

If you have any questions, please contact the department at (734) 654-6717.

Stay informed. Stay safe.

On December 12th, 2025, we proudly hosted our 3rd Annual Shop with a Hero—and WOW, what an unforgettable night! 🎄✨ The kids were buzzing with excitement from start to finish… though we’re pretty sure our amazing Heroes were just as excited (if not more!) to be shopping right alongside them.

This incredible night wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity of so many wonderful supporters. A huge THANK YOU to Carleton American Legion Post #66, Carleton VFW Post #4093, Carleton Hotel Bar, Lakewood Machine Products, and several amazing residents who helped us brighten the holidays for 10 incredible children.

After all that shopping, our crew needed to refuel—and thanks to Tiffany’s Pizza and Gardens of Carleton, no one left hungry! 🍕🍪 Those cookies and cupcakes were a big hit!

We’re also incredibly grateful to Airport Community Schools / Transportation for making sure our kids arrived safely, and to Wal-Mart, who helped turn shopping into a truly magical experience.

There are so many friends, family members, neighbors, and community partners who lent a helping hand—too many to list—but please know how deeply thankful we are for each and every one of you. 💙

This event was a true team effort, with multiple agencies coming together to give these kids a night they’ll never forget.

And of course, a special shoutout to our Heroes:
🚒 Ash Township Fire Fighters
🚓 Monroe County Deputies
👮 Carleton Police Officers

Thank you for being real-life heroes and for making this night so special.
Now… enjoy just a few snapshots from our amazing evening! 📸✨
