The Caribou Riverfront Redevelopment Committee will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, June 16, at 6:00 PM in the Caribou City Council Chambers to gather community feedback on the Draft Riverfront Master Plan.

The Riverfront Master Plan is intended to guide future redevelopment and investment along key portions of the Aroostook River corridor. The planning effort focuses on improving public access to the river, expanding recreation opportunities, celebrating the community's riverfront history, and supporting future economic development and tourism.

Draft concepts currently being evaluated include potential waterfront parks, trails, river access improvements, boating amenities, gathering spaces, recreation facilities, and other community-oriented uses. The concept materials identify three primary focus areas along the river corridor and illustrate potential opportunities for future development.

The committee encourages residents, businesses, and community stakeholders to review the draft concepts and provide feedback before the master plan is finalized.

Residents may also visit the City's booth during Thursdays on Sweden Street to learn more about the project and share comments.

The City of Caribou recently updated three community banner displays to make it easier for local organizations, schools, nonprofits, businesses, and event organizers to share information with the public.

Two of the display walls measure 6’ x 16’, and one measures 6’ x 12’. The location pictured here is across from the Caribou Public Library at the intersection of Main and High Streets. Other display walls are located on the theater lawn and at the Fort Street traffic lights.

These community banner spaces are available for public use at no cost, continuing a service the City has provided in the past while making banner installation safer and more accessible. The structures will be painted maroon in the coming weeks, and additional signage will be added to help identify the locations.

Whether you’re promoting a community event, fundraiser, festival, school activity, or other local initiative, these new display walls provide a highly visible way to connect with residents.

Before visiting the Caribou City Clerk's Office to renew your boat, ATV, or snowmobile registration, please note;

Due to a VERY limited supply of registration stickers received from the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife, the City is no longer able to process NEW registrations in person.

Renewal registrations may still be completed online anytime through the State of Maine at:
https://apps1.web.maine.gov/online/atv_snow/index.htm

For customers who need to register a new machine, you may contact the state via email at [email protected] providing the following information:
