🇺🇸 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! 🇺🇸
REPRESENT THE CITY OF CAREY in the
HAILEY 4TH OF JULY PARADE

Join us as we help bring Blaine County's history to life!

The Blaine County Historical Museum is creating a spectacular "Living Timeline of Blaine County History" for the Hailey 4th of July Parade. Each city and organization will represent a different chapter in the story of our valley and its people.
The City of Carey has been invited to help create and participate in FLOAT #1 — the earliest chapter of our region's story!

CAREY'S HISTORIC ERA
1840–1880
Our float will highlight:
• Goodale's Cutoff and westward migration
• Early settlement of the Wood River Valley
• Idaho Territory and Abraham Lincoln signing Idaho into territorial status
• Stagecoaches and wagon travel
• Ranching and frontier life
• The rugged Idaho landscape and pioneering spirit

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS!
There are many ways to participate:
🔨 Float construction and decorating
🎨 Painting and creating float elements
🚶 Walking in the parade
🐎 Portraying pioneers, settlers, ranchers, and travelers (the city will pay for your costume - see details below!)
🎩 Portraying Abraham Lincoln
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family participation encouraged
🇺🇸 General event assistance
Whether you can help build, create, dress in costume, or walk in the parade, we would love to have you represent our great town!

OUR STORY BEGINS HERE
The parade will progress through the history of Blaine County—from settlement and frontier life, through mining, railroads, sheep ranching, forestry, Sun Valley, ski culture, and modern valley life—ending with the hopeful theme:

"OUR STORY CONTINUES"
Together, let's share Carey's place in the story of Blaine County and celebrate the pioneers whose courage helped shape our community.

With our Carey Clean Sweep approaching, we will be gathering volunteers to help “Paint it Forward” for a deserving Carey resident. The selected resident will be thoughtfully chosen by Mayor Logan Davis, and the project location will be announced once the recipient has been identified and has accepted this opportunity for support. Let’s come together to support our amazing town and one of our neighbors.
Please see the link below for details and to sign up. 💙💛

Some exciting news for our city:🥳

Today, Idaho Congressman Mike Simpson–Chairman of the House Interior and Environment Appropriations Subcommittee–highlighted the inclusion of $13,200,000 in funding for the State and Tribal Assistance Grants (STAG) for the cities of Carey, Driggs, Fort Hall, Grace, Rupert, and Twin Falls, Idaho, at his request through Community Project Funding (CPF) in the Fiscal Year 2027 Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies Appropriations Bill.

“On behalf of the City of Carey, we sincerely appreciate Congressman Mike Simpson’s support of the proposed wastewater system improvements project. This critical investment will correct existing system deficiencies, strengthen long-term infrastructure resilience, and provide lasting value to residents, businesses, and visitors. It will also help protect important water resources, including the Little Wood River and its tributaries, reduce impacts to the Eastern Snake River Plain aquifer, and improve the reliability of essential infrastructure within Blaine County and the State of Idaho. Overall, this investment reflects a strong commitment to public health and environmental stewardship, delivering enduring value for generations to come,” - Carey Mayor Logan Davis.
