Other crimes such as domestic violence, robbery, burglary, r**e, murder, and theft can usually be traced back to illegal drug use. Carbon Hill Police Department has adopted a zero tolerance for illegal drugs. Police Chief Antoine Cobb along with fellow officers at CHPD have declared war on drugs and those persons who choose to sell and use illegal drugs in our community.

We would like to make our residents aware that Gustavs may be in your neighborhood🏡

Gustavs is a college student from Europe. He is doing his summer internship selling educational resources door to door to pay his way through college. Gustavs has checked in with the Carbon Hill City Hall and Carbon Hill Police Department and has proper identification available. He drives a grey Nissan Kicks with Florida plates. Don’t be alarmed he is very friendly, If you get a knock on the door from him we ask you to give him a warm Carbon Hill welcome!

Update: Some water has been restored as of 7:30pm 5/23/26

Carbon Hill PD has been advised of a water outage stretching from 7th Ave NE/Smith Chapel Rd. Water is expected to be out overnight due to a major leak.

Qualifications:
Integrity
HS diploma or GED
Strong typing skills
Detail oriented
Multi task
Pass drug screen

Pay will depend on experience

Part-Time employees are eligible to pay into the state retirement system.

Applications can be picked up at the Police Department at any time.

Carbon Hill Police Department is accepting applications for full time police officers. APOSTC certified. Benefits package includes the following:

BCBS insurance 70/30
40 hrs paid vacation after 1 year of service
80 hrs paid vacation after 3 years of service
2 personal leave days per year
15 paid holidays + Employee Birthday
Can accumulate up to 30 sick days

Starting pay scale:

Under 2 years Experience: $19hr
Over 2 years Experience: $20hr
