I will attempt to do one of the hardest and most challenging things I have done in many years. That is to thank all of the speakers, presenters, attendees, supporters, persons who helped make this happen, and well-wishers for the Street Naming Dedication held today, October 30, 2024, in honor of the work that I have done in the DMV over the past fifty plus years.

I must thank the members of my immediate family present and absent who have been such an inspiration and encouragement: my wife – Elma, my son Michael, daughters Consuella, Talana, and Lisa, my son-in-law Darrell, my triplet granddaughters, Valynn, Erynn, and Jordynn, and my only grandson Dakhota Smith, and last but not least, my nephew Pierre Edwards, Stand Up Comedian, Movie Writer & Producer, and Actor to name a few of his movies – B*A*P*S Halley Berry, How to Be a Player, For Da Love Of Money, & Slice 1, 2 & 3, to name a few.

While it is impossible to name everyone, I take the liberty of naming some who were a driving force in making all of this possible. To the former chair of the Maryland National Capitol Park and Planning Commission Elizabeth (Betty) Hewlett, District Seven Council Member Krystal Oriadha and her Chief of staff Tiffany Hannon, Former District Six Council Member Samuel Dean, and Coalition President Belinda Queen Cunningham. When the process came to a squeaking halt because of red tape, these individuals and others not mentioned by name, said LOUD AND CLEAR, NOT SO!

Thanks to the Wayne K. Curry family, for your presence and continued support, State Senator JoAnn Benson, State Senator Anthony Muse; Prince George’s County Council Chair Joline Ivey, members of the Coalition of Central Prince George’s County (Coalition), especially President Emeritus Turner, former Mayor Eugene Grant, members of the Wilburn Community, Dr. Vandy Kennedy, Sisters & friends Shirley & Bridget Waters, Brother Melvin Forbes, Vanessa & Rameses, Mission of Hope and Deliverance Pastor Lartman, Sister Medley, Daughter Breana, and a special thanks to CEO of Mission of Love Charites, Adena Bradley, and her devoted staff for making sure that we had use of the premises for the administrative portion of the unveiling of the Douglas Edwards Place across from the Mission of Love Charities warehouse

Greetings, Facebook, Readers, Parents, Students, and all who are concerned and responsible for educating and keeping our children, youth, and young adults safe in route to school, in school, and as they return home safely, and indoors. If you are a homemaker, please continue to be observant (nosy) for intruders, I am sure the family will appreciate you.

Parents, adults, and caring village attendances, for as much as we are allowed, we have a collective responsibility to be diligent with our eyes and ears, and do everything in our legal power to assist with seeing our children safe as they venture, many of them for the first time, to school and home.

As Believers of a power much greater than we ourselves, we pray for Your protection over our youth as they navigate through their educational journey. Collectively, let the believers bring our prayers before our Creator and seek His or Her blessings on our children, our young adults, parents, and those responsible for teaching and protecting our students.

We pray that our prayers will be answered and that our young people and their educators keep diligent eyes and ears, see and listen for any sign of danger, or mischief taking place that could possibly harm each other in our care. We pray Your blessings on our students, faculty, and everyone responsible for protecting, educating, and seeing our students safely to school and home. Join us as we pray together for our schools, students, and teachers. AMEN

To all Democrats who voted for someone other than Angela Alsobrooks, you have been heard and now that the Primaries are over, it is time for ALL DEMOCRATS to CONGRATULATE her, unite behind Angela, VOTE for her, and keep the US Senate in the hands of the Democratic Party.

Whomever you voted for in the Primaries is your business, but this is where the rubber meets the road, so as Democrats let's keep winning, and win in the General Election in November, that is what counts and truly matters. Please join me as we unite with and behind Angela as only Prince Georgians can do, and let us make it happen --- and DO IT!!

Facebook readers, and truth-tellers, what was your opinion of the President’s State of the Union Address? I believe he can and will last four more years, and if not, Vice President Harris can and will certainly advance the President’s agenda to its conclusion.

Senator Katie Britt Republican of Alabama who gave the response to the President’s State of the Union Address was selected because she is as big of a lyre as Donald John Trump. She was perfect for the response because she learned how to LIE with a straight face and with no shame.

The Republican Clown, Margie Taylor Green was in the audience wearing her CLOWN attire, so she did what clowns do, she dressed and put on the clown show. As you may have noticed, she did not mention what the President said about how Trump ran up the debt, nor how he gave the biggest tax reduction to millionaires and billionaires in the history of this Country.

Just wanted to share with you what I thought about the President’s State of the Union Address, the reactions by the Republicans to what he said, and how it was received by the Republican Party. This certainly tells us something about who they are and who they are SCARED to the death of Donald John Trump.

Good morning, Facebook family and friends,

I recently learned that Veterans who have been honorable discharged from the military with less than 100% disability at the time of discharge, and later become 100% disabled, that the spouse is not entitled to receive the veteran’s monthly disability pension.

This is so disheartening for the veteran’s spouse who undoubtedly depends on the veteran income to sustain them after the death of their spouse male or female. Please join with me as I start the process of lobbying Congress and the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) to get behind us to protect the surviving spouse of ALL 100% Disabled Veterans to correct this heugh injustice.

Can you imagine how the discontinuation of the veteran’s income will impact the surviving spouse who depends on the spouse’s income male or female veteran to maintain their home and needs? This could add to the number of homeless veterans and now, the veteran’s spouse.

When my wife and I, and then the late Bishop and Earnestine and I were driving to Florida every year for fun in the sun, we would stop eight going or returning from Florida, and would alway stop at South of the Border. However, I just learned that it si still open, and demolition of old and delopedated structurs are still being torn down. I just googled South of the Border, and they are still tearing down structures, but I did not see anything being built. Although we don't go to Florida during the winter we were doing, due to health challanges and age, when we go we fly and rent an automobile at the airport. Missing the good old days so much, but growing old gracefully!!

Facebook friends and family,

Although it was not Facebook, and very few cell phones, but a phone booth on every corner, we really knew how to get the word around who was having the party and which one we would be attending. Believe it or not, we at times had three or more parties every Friday and ending on Saturday night that we would attend. Sunday church, are you kidding me, how in the world could you get up for church on Sunday when you were still hungover from partying all night Friday and Saturday.

We had a card club that would take us from house to house, and all the way to Atlantic New, Jersey to play card. Believe it or not, I rarely or never heard or knew of anyone getting shop, stabbed or carjacked. If you by chance did not have a car, or yours temporary out of commission, you had enough friends that did, so you never miss getting any place you needed or wanted to go. Bellbottom Slacks, Stack Shoes. wearing a colorful gaberdine shirt with a Billy Extine collar, or the collar that reach half way down the front of your shirt.

Bruce Hunt and DJ Kofman’s were the men stores for Foot Joy, Nettleton Shoes, and Stacy Adam Shoes, and do not put on that Dobbs 30 or 40, or Panama Straw hat, you were ready to party for days. Pier 7, Holgate’s, and Flagship’s, Faces, Jackie Lee’s, the Spa, Tuxedo Club, Saraha Club, Moon Light End, Koko Club, and Jimmy McPhail’s Gold Room, Cars and Sparrow’s Beaches, Wilma’s Park, these are just a few establishments that we frequented during our glory days.

Now that I have grown old, and heave live to see the mean street of our cities, I have fond memories of the glory days, and hope and pray for them to return. It is had at best, and impossible to believe that I would live long enough to witness what I see taking place around the globe today, and especially among Black people, unbelievable, just unbelievable.

CB Radio Lucky Pierre – The DX or Skip Land = The Black Frenchman, Motor Cycle Drag Racer, dirt and asphalt – Lucky Pierre, Civil Right Activist, Systemic Investigator, Title V, Vi and VII Specialist, Nonprofit Founder and Operator, Minister, Pastor and Pastor Emeritus, all of which I hope to finish in my Autobiography “A Life Filled With Second Chances”.

Facebook readers and talk show listeners,

I am saddened to announce the death of my friend, Joe Madison (the Black Egel) one of my first radio talk show hosts, a civil rights activist, and a radio personality who joined the ancestors peacefully on Februsry1, 2024, surrounded by his family at the age of 74.

Joe was an activist for over 60 years as he spoke for the voiceless, the undervalued, underestimated, and marginalized. Shortly into my career as founder of Mission of Love Charities, I was interviewed by Joe Madison on WOL Radio, who introduced me to Robert Gatewood, of Gatewood Marketing who set up my first electronic media and email address.

In 2015, I made the bold recommendation to the Mission of Love Board of Directors to give Joe Madison the Bucky Trotter Humanitarian Award, but that was quickly shot down by the board, saying that Joe Madison was too controversial. I disagreed but was voted down, so I let it go. WOL eventually earned syndication on the Radio One Talk Network and its satellite channel and after its merger with Sirus and became XM in 2008, Joe Madison moved to satellite radio where he remained until his death on February 1, 2024.

Joe Madison will be sorely missed by everyone who knew and loved him and his passion for the undervalued, underestimated, and marginalized

Facebook Family and Friends,

Far too often we take friendships for granted, and by doing so; we miss the opportunity to let those friends know how we really feel about them until they are no longer around to hear us express them.

While I know that I’m not the only one that remembers their loved ones while they yet live, may I ask you to please be honest with yourself so you don’t have to take up hours of time when they are no longer with you, explaining to the survivors how much you loved that loved one.

While this is not about me, but about everyone who takes the time to read my testimony knowing that I'm only the vehicle to transmit this warning. Since 1984, I have been the caregiver and the comforter to my family who transitioned from labor to reward as well as those who remained. Members of my immediate family included my Mother, Father, Brother, Baby Sister, Middle Sister, Oldest Sister (and her son who requires assistance since 2009), and now my Oldest Brother, George. I hope I have done so with every ounce of love that I have in my body; to provide them with the love and comfort needed to transition peacefully as they connected with the ancestors who went on before them. If I fell short, it was the human side of me and certainly not the emotional side. In fact, I was told/ordered by professional caregivers that I needed to back away a little as I was making George co-dependent on me instead of doing what he could for himself. He too agreed with her and began to do more for himself, and that extended his life by months.

So I challenge all of you who take the time to read this, please examine yourself, be honest with yourself in your evaluation so as not to give credit where credit is not really due. On Friday when I Eulogize my Big Brother George, I do so without hesitation or reservation knowing that I did the best I could to make his transition as smoothly as humanly possible.

Much love FB family, here is my plea and heed this warning. Peace!
