We are sad to say.. this blizzard has been very tough on us..
We had a horse roll in the snow yesterday..and get stuck in a muddy area in the field.. he was unable to get himself up. After us attempting for a few hours to get him up ourselves.. we realized that we needed more help and contacted the city.. They sent the fire department, the police, and even the coast guard helped.. We were able to get the horse out of the hole He dug himself into, but he was extremely exhausted and unable to stand on his own at that time.. So in an attempt to let him rest and hopefully get himself strong enough to stand on his own. We took an 800 pound Bale of hay made a nice bed for him. Where he could be laid on and covered up with hay and blankets and straw and gave him to night to rest, hoping by morning, that he would be able to regain his strength and stand on his own... his temperature was monitored and he was not in the danger.Zone, for hypothermia, or anything like that..He was comfortable and resting peacefully..However, morning he was still unable to get himself up on his own.. he tried & tried...but still too weak..And at that point, the decision was made to have him humanely euphanized.. It is not a decision we take lightly and we did not want to make an irrational decision.. Last night after the horse had spent several hours Yesterday exhausting himself trying to get up.. we hoped and that giving him a little time to gain his strength back would make a difference.. We would never do anything to make any of our horses suffer, and we certainly did not want make the decision without giving him a chance until we exhausted all options.... we will miss him dearly as he has been a part of the carriage company for many years. And we were sad to see him have to go this way..
RIP ❤️ Diesel

And the frisian girl.. ugg they are both such sweethearts. This is why it is so important to support working horses. People think that only old, neglected, lame & crazy horses end up at an auction. But this is proof that any horse can end up at an auction.Even a pregnant frisian.. They are considered one of the most valuable horses to purchase. We did not get her because we are looking to use her immediately...We know that this was going to be a longer process but we did not want to see her end up at in k i l l pen.
They are not asking for donations.. All we ask is that you support us by taking carriage rides & joining us for
This helps us help save horses. And THANK YOU to all who do already support us. We love you (and so do they)

Walking the girls out of the sale.!!!
This is what carriage companies do.. we save horses from auctions where the highest bidder get them.. majority go to slaughter 😪 but not these two lucky girls... didn't see any of the protesters here saving horses... just saying!!
