The Libertarian Party first appeared at the SEMO District Fair in Cape Girardeau in 1980. That was the first year there was a Libertarian Party candidate on the ballot in Missouri. In 1994, when Greg Tlapek first ran for US Congress, supporters of the movement brought the Libertarian Party back to the fair and it's been there ever since. ir and be friendly. If you want to do more, hang around. You'll attract your friends and acquaintances and the attention of fair goers. The booth will be staffed from 3pm until 9pm each day of the fair. Weekends start a little earlier. Call Greg at 651-3733 or Rick Vandeven at 318-5564 if you are willing to sit at the booth for a bit. Our new location is by the entrance used by people who park in the ball fields across the street from the rides. It's a great location. Money always helps.
