Don’t be misled by sensational headlines—despite what you might hear, our real estate market remains steady. Florida Realtors confirm we’re experiencing a balanced market, marked by a healthy six-month inventory level. When it comes to single-family homes, the indicators are encouraging: prices and other favorable metrics are on the rise, while days on market are decreasing, just as we hope. Keep in mind, condo sales can sometimes influence overall stats differently. Thank you Michelle Richard for the info!

This is a big deal for Cape Coral! I sat down with Senator Jonathan Martin and Representative Mike Giallombardo and asked the question why does Cape Coral not get a consistent vote as to where our tourism dollars go we are the largest city with in the county and bring in the majority of the tax revenue to the county we should get a consistent vote. They told me I was right and they would write a bill! I am proud to announce that Desantis just passed that bill!

Why does this matter to Cape Coral?

The TDC helps oversee millions of dollars generated by the tourist development tax and makes recommendations on funding for beaches, shoreline improvements, parks, sports facilities, tourism marketing, and other projects that support our local economy and quality of life.

In the past, Cape Coral’s representation rotated, which meant our city could lose its voice at the table. This new law changes that by guaranteeing that the county’s most populous city—Cape Coral—will always have a seat and a say in these important discussions.

This is a win for our residents, businesses, parks, attractions, and waterfront assets. Having a consistent voice on the TDC helps ensure Cape Coral receives the attention, advocacy, and investment it deserves as Lee County continues to grow.

Thank you Senator Martin and Thank you Mike Giallombardo for sitting down with me and listening. Strong representation matters, and this is another positive step forward for Cape Coral.

On Monday, Gov. Ron DeSantis signed House Bill 4047 into law, implementing some key changes to the Lee County Tourist Development Council.

Please support this vital mission honoring WWII Tsgt Palmer • The remains of WWII soldier Charles C. Palmer Jr., killed in Germany in 1944, have been identified after nearly 80 years.
• Palmer's remains were identified using modern forensic techniques and a DNA sample from his 98-year-old cousin, Bonnie Rolquin.
• Military ceremonies, including a flyover and reinternment, are scheduled in Florida to honor Palmer's return.
Bonnie Rolquin believes she was 10 when a cousin came to visit her family on Long Island, New York. Her cousin, Charles C. Palmer Jr., was 16. It’s a faint and bittersweet memory for Rolquin, now 98, who lives in Bonita Springs. Palmer was killed during World War II in Germany in 1944 when he was 19. His remains were missing for decades and identified earlier this year, said the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency The agency's mission is to “provide the fullest possible accounting for our missing personnel to their families and the nation. “He was in a B-24H Liberator bomber Palmer is getting a military hero's welcome home after all these years. A private ceremony with his remains is scheduled for June 5 on the tarmac at SouthwestFlorida International Airport with military honors. A local visitation, open to the public, will be held at Shikany Funeral Home in Bonita Springs on June 6.On June 8 at Sarasota National Cemetery there will be a funeral and reinternment with a military fly over at 11:55 a.m. The flyover will be with members of the 700th Airlift Squadron from Dobbins Air Reserve Base in Marietta, Georgia. The squadron is the modern-day descendant of the 700th Bombardment Squadron, the unit Palmer was serving in when his B-24H Liberator bomber was shot down.

Let’s get this es**rt done!
