A HUGE congratulations to Canyon PD Captain Matthew Coggins for graduating today from the FBI National Academy! He is pictured here shaking hands with FBI Director Kash Patel.

Over the last 10 weeks, Captain Coggins has worked diligently with law enforcement professionals from across the country and around the world for advanced leadership training. His coursework focused on leadership, public safety, and community partnerships.

We're proud to have him represent Canyon during this course, and we're excited to welcome him back home!

UPDATE 7:21pm
Mandatory evacuations are now in place for areas near 13th Ave in Randall County. Residents in the area should leave immediately and follow directions from emergency officials.

A mandatory evacuation for Chaparral Villas near Brown Road and Cemetery Road has been issued. Evacuation shelter is located at the Cole Community Center at 300 16th Street.

Yesterday our Detectives and some of the Admin staff participated in The Bridge - Children's Advocacy Center pinwheel event in Amarillo. Each pinwheel represents a child who received services this past year. Our Detectives, Sgt. White, Cpl. Criss, and Cpl. Grunder work very closely with The Bridge while investigating crimes against children. They truly make a difference.
