As National Public Safety Telecommunicators (Dispatch) Week comes to a close, we want to once again give a heartfelt shout-out to the incredible dispatchers at the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department and the California Highway Patrol. They are the calm, steady voices people hear when they call 9-1-1 in Canyon Lake.
We extend our biggest thanks to the dedicated men and women of the Riverside County/Cal Fire Emergency Command Center (ECC) in Perris, who provide dispatch services for the Canyon Lake Fire Department.
On Thursday, the Canyon Lake Firefighters Association and Canyon Lake Fire Department Command Staff had the privilege of delivering dinner to the Perris ECC and personally thanking these outstanding professionals. We also had the opportunity to observe them in action—handling calls, managing radio traffic, providing lifesaving instructions, and dispatching fire personnel to emergencies.
As many watched the response to the vegetation fire in Lake Elsinore yesterday, it was reassuring to know these highly skilled individuals were coordinating the deployment of fire engines, hand crews, dozers, ambulances, and aircraft—while simultaneously managing other emergencies across the county.
Please join the Canyon Lake Fire Department in expressing appreciation for these professionals who serve our community 24/7/365. Thank you.
