Reminiscing on a night like this.

Our Veterans Resource Fair at VetCV Mission Next Center brought together veterans, community partners, and organizations all under one roof to connect, support, and serve. Nights like these are a reminder of the incredible impact we can make when we come together for those who have sacrificed so much for our country.

I was proud to cosponsor HB 191 during the 2026 Legislative Session. Thank you to Representative Shane Abbott for sponsoring this important legislation focused on strengthening accountability within Florida’s reemployment assistance system.

HB 191 enhances verification requirements for reemployment assistance eligibility to help ensure benefits are directed to Floridians who truly need temporary support while protecting taxpayer dollars from fraud and abuse.

The bill reinforces the importance of connecting able-bodied individuals back to the workforce while maintaining a safety net for those facing legitimate hardship.

Knocking on doors and making friends, even the ones who can’t open them!

Did you know nearly half of Republican voters are dog owners? That means when I’m out here door knocking, there’s a pretty good chance a furry friend is waiting on the other side! 🐶❤️

Whether it’s a golden greeting me with a wagging tail or a tiny terror barking through the mail slot, dogs get it. They know a good neighbor when they see one.

So if you hear a knock and your pup goes wild, that just might be me stopping by to talk about the issues that matter to YOUR family (and yes, your four-legged family members too 🐕).

It was wonderful catching up with Stephanie Shepard and touring Hope Above Fear to see the incredible work that continues to be done throughout our community. It was inspiring to hear about the growth of the organization and how their programs are continuing to expand and positively impact the lives of so many teenagers and families across Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties.

I was proud to cosponsor HB 527 during the 2026 Legislative Session. Thank you to Representative Hillary Cassel for sponsoring this important legislation focused on protecting Floridians and bringing greater accountability to the insurance claims process. 

HB 527 allows insurance companies to use artificial intelligence and machine learning tools to assist with claims processing, but it ensures that AI cannot be the sole reason a claim is denied or reduced.

The bill requires qualified human professionals to review and make final decisions on denied claims, helping provide transparency, fairness, and stronger consumer protections for Florida families.

As a Manager - at - Large on the budget conference, I was given the opportunity to speak into every aspect of the budget.

Once the conference is over and we begin our debate and vote, the leaders of the conference must sign off on the agreement.

It was inspiring to see firsthand the dedication and compassion that goes into serving families in need across Northwest Florida.
