During Deafapalooza 2026, we celebrated Juneteenth by creating space for connection, culture, language, artistry, and leadership. The laughter, stories, performances, and friendships formed throughout the weekend are a reminder that representation matters and community thrives when everyone belongs.

What a weekend. ❤️🤟🏽

From packed performances and powerful stories to laughter, learning, community, and celebration, Deafapalooza 2026 brought people together in ways we’ll never forget.

We watched Deaf youth see themselves reflected on stage. We honored Deaf history, celebrated Deaf culture, amplified Deaf artists, supported Deaf-owned businesses, and created space where everyone belonged.

To every performer, presenter, vendor, volunteer, sponsor, attendee, and supporter—thank you. You helped turn a vision into something extraordinary.

This wasn’t just an event. It was a reminder of what’s possible when our community leads, creates, and celebrates together.

✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽✊🏼 Juneteenth celebrates freedom and marks the day when the last enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, learned they were free—more than two years after President Abraham Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation.

Each year on June 19, we honor this important moment in American history and reflect on the ongoing pursuit of freedom, equality, and justice for all people, regardless of race, ethnicity, or gender.
