🚨 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗔𝗱𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗹𝗲𝗲𝘁 🚨

In an effort to expand our patrol capabilities, we recently discovered an extra $3.5 billion in our expense fund… and, coincidentally, that was the asking price for a U.S. nuclear-powered fast attack 774-class submarine.

After careful consideration, we bought it and are confident that our Airboat Unit members can effectively operate this vessel with minimal training.

Residents along the St. Lawrence River may notice an increased underwater presence. Please don’t be alarmed, routine patrol operations are underway.

If you were thinking about putting away the snowblower, grabbing the lawn chairs, or preparing for 60° days… go ahead and reverse all of that.

The National Weather Service has issued a 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗪𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘆 in effect until 𝟭𝟭:𝟬𝟬 𝗣𝗠 tonight.

Expect snow, slippery roads, and reduced visibility throughout the evening. Travel conditions may become hazardous, so please plan accordingly.

If you must travel, please use caution and allow extra time to get where you’re going. If you don’t have to go out… this might be a good night for pizza and Walker, Texas Ranger.

The St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office reminds everyone that a High Visibility Engagement Campaign is underway across New York State during the St. Patrick’s Day holiday.

Deputies will be actively patrolling roadways and participating in STOP-DWI enforcement efforts aimed at keeping our communities safe.

• Plan a sober ride home
• Use a designated driver or rideshare
• Stay the night where you are celebrating
• Never drive impaired

Driving while intoxicated endangers lives and will result in arrest, fines, and loss of your license.

𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻!

We are proud to offer local youth the opportunity to attend 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗳𝘀' 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽 𝗼𝗻 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗞𝗲𝘂𝗸𝗮 𝗟𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗟𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀. This program is designed to give children in our community, especially those who may not otherwise have the opportunity, the chance to experience a summer camp.

Our Snowmobile Patrol Unit is actively patrolling the county trail system today.

Deputies are reporting numerous hazards, including 𝗵𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗹𝗼𝘄-𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 throughout various sections of the trail network. Deputies have been working to clear obstructions as they encounter them.

If you are heading out on the trails:

• Reduce your speed
• Use extra caution, especially around corners and wooded sections
• Watch for freshly fallen debris
• Be prepared to stop unexpectedly

🚨 𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗩𝗘𝗟 𝗔𝗗𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗥𝗬 – 𝗦𝗧. 𝗟𝗔𝗪𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗖𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗧𝗬 🚨

The St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office is issuing a Travel Advisory for all of St. Lawrence County due to heavy, wet snow and ice causing hazardous road conditions.

Roadways are snow-covered and slippery, with reduced visibility in some areas.

Please avoid unnecessary travel. If you must drive, slow down, increase following distance, and use extreme caution. Plow crews are actively working, but conditions may continue to worsen.

We will provide updates as needed. Please stay safe.

𝗜𝗰𝗲 𝗪𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴

On Sunday, members of the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office participated in an Ice Water Rescue training hosted by the Parishville Volunteer Fire Department

Also in attendance were personnel from:

• Potsdam Fire Department
• West Potsdam Volunteer Fire Department and First Responders
• Pierrepont Volunteer fire department
• Massena Volunteer Fire Department Dive Team
• Waddington Fire Department Dive Team
• New York State Police

Training like this strengthens interagency coordination and ensures that first responders are prepared to operate safely and effectively during cold-water emergencies. Ice rescues are high-risk incidents that demand teamwork, communication, and specialized skills, and it was great to see so many agencies working together.

We appreciate the invitation and the opportunity to train alongside our partners.
