Recently married and need to update your name on your U.S. passport? Our office can assist with preparing the name change application paperwork and making sure you have the documents needed to submit your application.

If you legally changed your name, the process to change your name on your U.S. passport is determined by when your last passport was issued and when your name was legally changed. For example, if it has been less than one year since both your last passport was issued and your name was legally changed, you can most likely apply by mail.

Courthouse Reopening Update: The Cherokee County Courthouse will reopen Friday, August 28, 2026. Our Woodstock Annex will remain open during regular business hours both until the reopening and moving forward. We appreciate your continued patience and look forward to serving you!

Superior Court Chief Judge David Cannon Jr. signed a judicial emergency order regarding the incident at the Justice Center on Friday.
The Annex on Towne Lake is open to the public for passports, notaries, and filings.
