All service members from the and National Guard took a photo in front of the . Some service members were recognized for going the extra mile of where the mission needed them the most by receiving certificates and coins. Following this, the troops gathered as Lt. Col. Steven Jackson, commander of Joint Task Force Magnolia, delivered an inspiring speech of their service in Washington, D.C. The speech concluded with a collective battle cry of "Magnolia Honor," signifying the mark of partnership and service for both states which share the state flower Magnolia.
Approximately 2,400 National Guard members are supporting the D.C. Safe and Beautiful mission, providing critical support to the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department in ensuring the safety of all who live, work, and visit the District. (U.S. Army National Guard photos by Sgt. Christian Brown)
