A closer look at how leaves do their job!

Glenwood fifth graders kicked off their Ecosystems Unit by using leaves from their own courtyard and hand-held microscopes to find stomata, the tiny openings that help plants exchange gases during photosynthesis. Science is pretty cool when you can see it happening right in front of you!

A $775,425 Safe Routes to School grant will fund new sidewalks, a pedestrian crossing, and a direct walkway to Glenwood Intermediate School.
