Beginning Thursday, September 3, EZEE Fiber will be installing fiber optic cable along Beck Road between Waddington and Larchmont.

Because Canton operates as a township rather than a city, the public roads and the rights-of-way bordering them are under the jurisdiction of Wayne County. EZEE Fiber holds state-level METRO Act approvals and county-level permits to perform this underground excavation.

Fiber companies are allowed to dig in right-of-way or utility easements because state laws and local permits grant telecommunications providers legal access to public property and dedicated easement areas for infrastructure.

If your right-of-way or utility easement is damaged during the installation of fiber optic cable, the provider is legally obligated to restore it. Please report any concerns or damage to the numbers below.
• EZEE Fiber Email: [email protected]
• EZEE Fiber Resident Compliant Hotline: 734/234-6416
• Online Resolution: You can use the EZEE Fiber Contact Portal to submit photos of the property damage or open a restoration ticket: https://ezeefiber.com/contact/

Canton Township is warning residents and contractors about a fake billing scam that demands immediate payment through wire transfers. Cybercriminals have been using correspondence that appears credible because it uses specific personal facts pulled directly from the internet and public records. It is imperative that residents and contractors know that Canton NEVER demands payments through wire transfers or accepts payments through gift cards or cryptocurrency.

If you receive one of these letters/emails, DO NOT send any money, click any links, or reply to the sender. Instead, call Canton Township at 734/394-5100 and they will transfer you to the correct department to verify the legitimacy of the letter/email. NEVER use the phone number, website, or email address printed on the suspicious notice itself.
