With the warm weather finally showing up means one thing it's pool season! The fire department is in the process of scheduling pools to be filled or topped off. We'd like to also apologize to the many people we missed last year due to a shortage of man power. We hope people understand and give us a opportunity to make your hot summer enjoyable.

Hazardous weather conditions, including freezing rain and icy roadways, are creating dangerous travel conditions across St. Lawrence County. The public is strongly advised to avoid non-essential travel at this time.

Road conditions are especially hazardous on untreated roads, bridges, and secondary roadways, and may deteriorate quickly.

🚔 Motorists who must travel should reduce speeds, increase following distance, and use extreme caution.

𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗩𝗘𝗟 𝗕𝗔𝗡 𝗜𝗡 𝗘𝗙𝗙𝗘𝗖𝗧

Due to 𝘀𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀, including freezing rain and widespread icy roadways, the previously issued 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝘂𝗽𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗩𝗘𝗟 𝗕𝗔𝗡, which is now in effect for St. Lawrence County and will remain in effect until conditions improve.

Current road conditions throughout the county are extremely hazardous and present a significant risk to motorists, emergency responders, and public safety personnel. Ice accumulation has resulted in dangerous travel conditions and the potential for motor vehicle crashes, stranded motorists, and delayed emergency response.

Deputies are currently responding to multiple motor vehicle accidents across the county, and road conditions continue to deteriorate.

If travel is not absolutely necessary, please delay your trip until conditions improve.

St. Lawrence County has extended it's county-wide burn ban through Monday, September 1, 2025 at 6:00 PM unless rescinded or extended.

The burn ban applies to all of St. Lawrence County with the exception of a small campfire built in fire rings to confine and contain the fire.

Note: The Local State of Emergency will be remaining in effect through Friday September 5, 2025 at 5:59 pm.

St. Lawrence County has issued a burn ban for all of St. Lawrence County starting tonight August 7th at 6pm through Tuesday, August 12th at 6:00pm.

The ban which is put in place due to the increased risk of wildfires includes the burning of any downed tree limbs and branches. Small campfires, barbecue grills and outdoor fires are permissible as long as they are confined within a small fire ring which contains the fire.
