Canton Police Department (Ohio) Chief John Gabbard The first man to hold this job was Fred S. McCloud, who previously has served as an elected marshall. He served as chief until 1906.

Although Canton was founded in 1805 by the late Bezaleel Wells, its first chief of police was not appointed until almost a century later in 1903.

Canton Police Department has released updated information on suspects wanted in the deaths of Katina Spells and Kourtney Yeager.

We are asking that anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of these three individuals contact the Canton Communications Center at 330-649-5800, the Canton Police Detective Bureau at 330-489-3144 or the US Marshals Task Force at 1-866-4-WANTED or 1-866-492-6833.
